Late 18th century French marriage armoire - stripped oak

An elegant marriage armoire from the late 18th century. The piece has been completely stripped of varnish so that the carvings can be clearly seen. The sculpted doves are very much three-dimensional. The detail of the carving to the doors is also spectacular - featuring pearls, bouquets of flowers and garlands.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
