Small Louis XV red marble floating console 31½"

This small red marble console, from the 18th century Louis XV period, showcases exceptional wrought iron craftsmanship. Originating from Languedoc, it features its original red marble top, which is in excellent condition with no cracks or repairs. Designed to be wall-mounted and floating above floor level, it was typically placed between two windows, a style known as an 'entre deux.' The wrought iron base displays the intricate scrollwork typical of the Louis XV period, combining both decorative elegance and practical design. A lovely piece for an entryway, hallway or as a console in a living room between windows.
